Transportation:  Getting from Place to Place

It's now time to think about transportation.  How will the contestants get from point to point in the game:

  • Starting point to the first challenge?

  • First challenge to the checkpoint?

  • Checkpoint to the challenge in the next city?  (You should work with the person planning the next city to decide this form of transportation.)

You can have teams walk, take a taxi, ride a bike, fly in a plane... anything that you can think of.  Be careful with being logical.  You cannot have someone walk 30 miles to the next checkpoint.  You also cannot have someone take the train when there is no train station in your city.

Be creative.  This show is meant to be a race.  You can set different times that a bus may leave, and after the bus fills up, the next contestants may have to take a later time.  You can think of different forms of transportation that are man-powered such as a kayak or bicycle.  If this is the case, you may want to keep locations near to each other.

You must track how far it is in between the places mentioned above.  A good resource to use is Google Maps. Find the latitude and longitude of your starting and ending locations by clicking on the map EXACTLY where the event is occurring.  Also track how far it is in between locations by typing this into the directions portion of this website.
